RU academic activities to resume on 8 September

The academic activities of Rajshahi University (RU) will resume on 8 September following an unscheduled closure of around two months.

The admission process in first-year honours classes in the 2023-2024 academic year, which remained suspended, will also resume within a
shortest possible time.

The decisions were made in a meeting held with all deans today, Treasurer Prof Obaidur Rahman Pramanik said.

Accordingly, the departments will restart their scheduled classes and examinations simultaneously.

Dean of Business Studies Faculty ASM Kamruzzaman told BSS they will resume the first-year admission process. Classes of the newcomers are expected to start by 15 September, just after completing the admission process, he added.

The academic activities of Rajshahi University have remained suspended since 1 July, when the teachers launched their work-absent programme to press home their demands for the cancellation of the pension policy.
