LPG-laden truck explodes after overturning in Brahmanbaria
Although no casualties were reported, the blaze caused by the cylinder explosions damaged 4 roadside shops adjacent to the highway

A truck carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders overturned and exploded in Brahmanbaria early this morning (4 June), triggering a fire.
The incident occurred around 4am on the Cumilla-Sylhet highway in the Birasar area of the district town.
Confirming the incident, Deputy Director of Brahmanbaria Fire Service and Civil Defence, Newton Das said, "After the truck overturned, the cylinders exploded with a loud noise. We are investigating to determine the cause of the fire."

Although no casualties were reported, the blaze caused by the cylinder explosions damaged 4 roadside shops adjacent to the highway.
According to the Fire Service and local sources, ongoing road work under the Ashuganj-Akhaura four-lane highway project has left several portions of the Cumilla-Sylhet highway riddled with potholes. As a result, the truck, which was heading towards Cumilla with over 100 LPG cylinders, lost control and overturned into a roadside ditch.

Moments later, several cylinders exploded with loud bangs, sparking a fire that spread to nearby establishments.
Two units of the Fire Service rushed to the scene and took nearly two hours to bring the blaze under control.
