Home Affairs Adviser to the interim government Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today (21 August) said people who were injured during the anti-discrimination student movement are receiving world-class care under the supervision of a number of renowned doctors at the BGB Hospital here.

He made the remarks while replying to the queries of the newsmen present at Pilkhana Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) hospital premises this morning, shortly after visiting the injured BGB members and students.

He said, "The patients at the BGB hospital are in good hands. They have been doing better than before. The hospital authorities are working sincerely to provide them with necessary treatment and care."

"The Director General (DG) of the BGB has said some more patients will be brought to the hospital for better treatment," he said.

The advisor then urged the countrymen to come forward along with the interim government and to work from their respective positions to ensure good care of the injured.

Earlier, he personally spoke to the injured BGB members and students admitted there and enquired about their treatment.

He also gave instructions to all concerned officials including the BGB DG to ensure better medication for them.

The DG Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, along with senior officials of the BGB headquarters were present at the time of his hospital visit.
