Another DMP cop dies of Covid-19
So far, 5,333 police personnel have been diagnosed positive for Covid-19 to date
A member of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) died on Monday while undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Central Police Hospital in the capital.
The victim, Shree Nirod Chandra Mondol, 52, hailed from Faridpur and worked as a stenographer at Pallabi Zone of DMP, read a press release issued by the Police Headquarters on Tuesday.
The body was sent to Faridpur and his funeral will be held there according to Hindu ritual in presence of senior police officials, read the press release.

The highly infectious virus, Covid-19, has taken, so far, 16 lives from Bangladesh Police and 5,333 police personnel have been diagnosed positive for Covid-19 to date.
Among them, 1,706 are from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), according to sources at the police headquarters.
Some 2,059 police personnel recovered from Covid-19 as of Tuesday.
