PriyoShop, a one-stop-shopping point, to fight Covid-19

As the Covid-19 pandemic rages on prompting nationwide movement curbs, e-commerce platform PriyoShop is continuing its role as the one-stop-purchasing solution for the consumers and safe recluse for a variety of businesses.

While helping to stem community transmission, customers can order and pay online for all their essential and also non-essential items, and get them in safety packages from deliverymen in appropriate protective suits, thanks to PriyoShop.

The online platform is also helping support Eid business by adding fashion items to their list with up to 48% discount.

The Founder and CEO of PriyoShop Asikul Alam Khan has detailed the roles his team are earnestly playing during the countrywide shutdown, as part of the company's pledge to support the society.

Asikul Alam said that being a customer-oriented company, PriyoShop is focusing on full-fledged deliveries, meaning people can get whatever they need without having to go out into the streets.

To ensure this one-stop service, the team is giving considerable emphasis on customer feedback. Basking on the feedbacks the company is adding different products and brands into its catalogue almost everyday – while not compromising on quality, according to Asikul Alam.

PriyoShop also gives a lot of priority to product pricing to do justice to its customer base, said this tech entrepreneur.

To make online shopping smoother and easier, PriyoShop accepts orders on any option convenient for the customers – website, mobile app and Facebook inbox. If a customer can find any of these difficult to manage he or she can simply call the customer care hotline, he added.

"Besides the customers, we are putting a lot of focus on the safety of our team. It goes without saying that we can only serve as long as our team is healthy. Packaging and deliveries are also receiving special care, so that the proper amount of safety can be ensured for both our staff and customers."

He also informed that the PriyoShop delivery team is always equipped with gloves, masks and PPE when making deliveries. Before they start for a delivery destination, it is double-checked that they are using safety kits. Besides, regular health checkups are also being administered.

The PriyoShop CEO said they provide the luxury of paying through multiple options for users including Bkash, Visa card, Mastercard, Amex card, Nexus Pay and bank deposit.

Moreover, so that customers feel encouraged to pay through online channels and avoid going outdoors, PriyoShop is partnering with multiple banks and offering discounts and cashback campaigns.

"When the general holiday was initially announced, our first thought was to postpone services for a while. However, we soon realised that it is our duty to deliver necessary products and grocery items to the general people. With that thought, we started slowly with only grocery items," Asikul Alam said.

"It took some time to gather velocity, with transportation options being limited and vendors not accepting order placements. The supply chain faced the most issues. But from the start of May, we have been able to hurdle all obstacles and provide products and goods in full scale," he added.

He again said that customers are mostly purchasing items which are most essential for day-to-day living like rice, lentil, soap, biscuits, alongside products for health and safety measures.

Clothing and cosmetic items are also getting a lot of orders, as Eid is right around the corner. However, compared to previous years, clothing sales are much lower this Eid.
