A diplomatic agreement regarding visa exemption for diplomatic/official passport holders has been signed between Bangladesh and Kazakhstan.

Bangladeshi Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu signed this agreement following a bilateral meeting on Friday (22 September) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, reads a press release.

During the meeting, discussions were held to expand further cooperation in various fields of bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Kazakhstan.

Momen presented the economic and social development of Bangladesh in recent years under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, mentioning significant advancements in agriculture, textile manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors.

Highlighting Bangladesh's remarkable economic growth over the past 14 years and its return on investment compared to neighbouring countries, the Bangladeshi foreign minister extended an invitation to Kazakhstani foreign minister for more investments in Bangladesh.

"My country has been working to enhance connectivity with neighbouring nations, creating a comprehensive infrastructure for development," emphasised the Kazakhstani foreign minister.

He expressed interest in boosting trade and commerce with Bangladesh, utilising this opportunity for connectivity with other nations.

Both ministers noted that this visa exemption agreement for diplomatic/official passport holders of Bangladesh and Kazakhstan will further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries and make travelling easier.
