If you are a Hollywood buff then you must remember the famous interrogation scene from "Basic Instinct" were the gorgeous Sharon Stone triumphs over the misogynistic police with her daring act.

The 'Casino' actress who is often termed as a "tough-talking, cool as ice, sex symbol" has proven to the world that she is more than just a pretty face.

The Golden Globe actress has turned 62 today and the former model continues to gain critical appreciation for her performances on both the big and small screen.

Born in a small town of Pennsylvania, she was the first member of her family to go to college. The actress left her studies to pursue modelling and then later on devoured her heart in acting.

The actress gained mainstream success when she appeared in a futuristic action film 'Total Recall' alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Stone's portrayal of Catherine Tramell, an alleged serial killer made her the 'ultimate bombshell' of the nineties.

She received an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe award for her performance as the wife of Robert de Niro's in Casino, directed by Martin Scorsese.

Throughout her career she was famous for movies such as The Specialist (1994), The Quick and the Dead (1995) and Antz (1998), Silver (1993).

 The actress latest movie 'What About Love" will see her donning the role of a parent who experience the joys of love through the relationship of her daughter.
