NoFeL SC relegated from BPL

NoFeL Sporting Club were relegated from the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football as the 2nd team after Team BJMC, playing a 2-2 draw with upper-ranked Sheikh Jamal DC in their last league match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Thursday.

Gambian Striker Emil Sambou netted both the goals for Sheikh Jamal DC in the 15th and 51th minute. 

Midfielder Khandokar Ashraful Islam scored first for NoFeL SC in the 55th minute while Guinean striker Ismael Bangoura levelled the margin in the 85th minute.

With the draw, NoFeL SC earned 20 points from all 24 matches, one point behind their nearest rivals Rahmatganj MFS, which bagged 21 points from 23 matches. 

With the outcome, NoFeL Sporting Club were relegated to the Bangladesh Championship League (BCL) after Team BJMC, who earned just 11 points from 23 league matches. 

On the other hand, Sheikh Jamal DC finished 6th securing 28 points from all 24 encounters.  

In another match of the day, Saif Sporting Club finished 4th in the 13-team league defeating Muktijoddha SKC by 3-1 goals in their last match at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh. 

Captain Jamal Bhuiyan, Mohammed Foysal Ahmed Fahim and Mohamed Sajjad Hossain scored one goal each for Saif SC in the 19th, 87th and 89th minute respectively while Japanese striker Yusuke Kato scored the lone goal for Muktijoddha SKC from a penalty in the 25th minute. 

With this well-merited victory, Saif SC finished 4th securing 47 points from all 24 matches while Muktijoddha SKC remained at the previous 7th securing 26 points from all 24 matches.
