Drik Picture Library has inaugurated a ten-day exhibition titled "Kararuddho Chirkut o Onanno" (Prison Notes and Other Stories) on Wednesday.

One minute of silence was observed at the beginning of the programme to commemorate the courage and memories of Burhan Uddin Muzakkir, a journalist who was shot dead while trying to capture the news of an inter-party clash in Companyganj, Noakhali, and Mushtaq Ahmed, a writer who was tortured to death in custody over a harassing case under the Digital Security Act.

At the opening ceremony, photojournalists Shafiqul Islam Kajol and Al Mamun Jibon, victims of false and harassing cases under the Digital Security Act, spoke of their experiences of persecution and called on all to join the struggle to repeal the Digital Security Act.

The exhibition presents stories about the experiences journalists face in the face of fear and adversity due to the Digital Security Act as well as the economic uncertainties and crises of the coronavirus pandemic.

The works of 13 photographers from different districts of the country are being exhibited till 20 March, every day from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
