The investigation officer did not find any allegation against celebrity actress and entrepreneur Shomi Kaiser in a defamation case filed against her on April 30.

The Officer-in-Charge (investigation) of Shahbagh Police station Mahbubur Rahman today submitted the final report.

He also mentioned that the plaintiff could not present any witness in favour of his case.

The plaintiff of the case filed a time petition mentioning that he needed time to file a no confidence petition against the final report (FRT).

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor set November 25 for submission of the no confidence petition.

On April 30, Mia Md Nuzhatul Hasan — editor of the Student Journal BD news portal — filed the case against Shomi claiming she mistreated reporters at the National Press Club after losing her smartphone.

The court ordered investigation into the incident and set 16 June for submission of the investigation report.

The plaintiff has demanded Tk100 crore compensation from Shomi for insulting and defaming journalists.
