Three people have died allegedly after taking liquor in Rajshahi.

The deceased were identified as Faisal, 28, son of Ainul Islam of Hosniganj area, Sajal, 25, son of Rafiqul Islam of Shantapara area of Bagmara upazila and Sagar, 25, son of Uttam of Bakir Mor area. 

The victims died in Ward No 18 of Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) Hospital from late night on Friday to early morning on Saturday.

Two others, who fell seriously ill after taking liquor, are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajpara Police Station Mazharul Islam said they together took liquor in Hosniganj area of the city between 9pm and 10pm on Friday and fell sick.

Later, they were taken to the hospital where the trio died, said the OC adding that investigation is underway on this regard.
