Bangabandhu T20 Cup over for Rahi

A muscle pull to Abu Jayed Rahi's left-foot has meant that his participation in the ongoing Bangabandhu T20 Cup is over.

The right-arm fast bowler picked up the injury while bowling for Fortune Barishal against Minister Group Rajshahi yesterday. He had to leave the field on a stretcher. Rahi is the second player to bow out with injury after Gazi Group Chattogram's Mominul Haque.

Rahi will not be out for long though. He is supposed to return to cricket after 15 days at best which means he will be available for Tigers' Test series against West Indies in early January.

Rahi's injury is not that serious. He had a first-grade tear, according to Fortune Barishal's physio Joy Bishwas.

"Rahi will be back soon. It seemed like a first-grade tear to me. It will take at least 15 days for him to recover," said Joy.

Rahi has played 5 matches for Fortune Barishal so far picking up 3 wickets. Despite playing in the T20 tournament his eyes were set at the upcoming Test series for which he suggested the other players to train and stay fit personally.

It is hoped that he will join the training camp from the very beginning despite the injury, and if not, a few days later at best. The training camp for Windies series will begin from December 25.
