A Dhaka court placed 10 Chhatra League leaders on a 5-day remand today in connection with the murder of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology student Abrar Fahad.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury granted the remand after they were produced before the court, confirmed General Recording Officer Nizam Ahmed.

On early hours of Monday, Abrar, 22, a second-year-student of electrical and electronics engineering department was allegedly beaten to death in his dormitory Sher-E-Bangla Hall.

A total of 10 Chhatra League leaders of Buet unit was detained as Abrar's father Barkat Ullah filed a case with Chawkbazar police station on the same night.
