Aedes larvae have been found in 80 residences and establishments during a cleanliness drive by Dhaka North City Corporation.

According to a press release, after inspecting some 13,763 buildings in the City Corporation, a mobile court slapped fines of Tk3,45,000 in 18 cases.

Rubbish and stagnant water were found in 8,401 of the inspected buildings on the eighth day of the DNCC's cleanliness campaign, launched to protect city dwellers from dengue and other mosquito-related diseases.

The drive was simultaneously continued in 54 wards of Dhaka North between 9am and 12pm.
