Dengue: 6 more deaths, 1,561 hospitalised in 24 hours
Death toll reaches 149 as yearly cases cross 51,000
Six more people have died from dengue while 1,561 new patients were hospitalised across Bangladesh in the 24 hours to today (13 September), taking the country's dengue death toll to 149 this year.
The latest figures were released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) through its Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room.
Of the six deaths recorded during the latest 24-hour period, two were reported in Chattogram Division, two in Khulna Division, and one each in Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions.
Meanwhile, 1,394 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals during the period, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 48,093.
The cumulative number of dengue cases reported nationwide has now reached 51,837, according to DGHS data.
