For the past few days, netizens have flooded social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, with the photos of Kangchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world, which is currently being seen clearly from Panchagarh of Bangladesh.

On October 29, a Facebook user named Abdullah Al Maruf captured this beautiful picture with the caption "Kanchenjunga appeared for the first time in this year. I was waiting for 5:30 am to get the view. The picture is taken today at 8:20 am on the bank of Karatoya river at Fultola."

Al Amin posted in the popular travel-based Facebook group "Travellers of Bangladesh" saying, "Every year, Kanchenjunga is seen at the beginning of November, but this year the time arrived a little early. On Thursday (October 29) morning, Kanchenjunga was seen with the naked eye from different areas of Tetulia upazila including the Dak Bungalow, of the upazilla."

According to the Google Maps, Kanchenjunga is 157km away from Tentulia, but the upazilla is being located in the foothills of the Himalayas has enabled Bangladeshis to have a glimpse of this scenic view.

Every year, this time of the year is suitable for the view as the snow-capped white mountains of Kanchenjunga are visible in the cloudless sky.

To enjoy this view right now, one has to reach Tetulia of Panchagarh district, from any corner of the country. Dhaka to Tetulia bus fare usually costs from Tk 800-1500. After reaching there, you can rent a rickshaw-van to take a trip to the upazila, including visiting the spots where Kanchenjunga is most clearly visible.

You can spend the night at the Tetulia Bungalow or many other small hotels at Tetulia bazar. You'll also get quality food at different hotels and restaurants at the bazar.
