Mercantile Bank opens four sub-branches to expand banking access
Mercantile Bank PLC inaugurated four new sub-branches today (4 June 2026), aiming to provide modern, convenient banking services to customers across the country.
The new sub-branches are Miarhat Sub-Branch in Swarupkathi, Pirojpur; Shibchar Sub-Branch in Madaripur; Merajnagar Sub-Branch in Kadamtali, Dhaka; and Bhola Banglabazar Sub-Branch in Bhola.
Mati Ul Hasan, the bank's Managing Director, inaugurated the sub-branches as the chief guest.

Mercantile Bank Deputy Managing Director Shamim Ahmed delivered the welcome speech, while Deputy Managing Director Ashim Kumar Saha delivered the vote of thanks.
Deputy Managing Directors Md Zakir Hossain, Dr Md Zahid Hossain and Tapash Chandra Paul, PhD; Senior Executive Vice Presidents Mohammad Iqbal Rezwan and Md Abdul Halim; Head of Main Branch Md Abdul Awal; Head of Risk Management Division and DCRO Shamim Ahmed; Head of Branches Division Md Aliullah; heads of all controlling branches; in-charges; local distinguished persons; business representatives; media personnel; bank officials; and invited guests were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Mercantile Bank Managing Director Mati Ul Hasan said that after 27 years of operation, Mercantile Bank PLC remained committed to providing modern, high-quality banking services across the country.
He said with the addition of the four new sub-branches, the total number of Mercantile Bank sub-branches had reached 52. The bank also operates 153 branches, 200 ATMs and CRM booths, and 188 Agent Banking outlets, which continuously provide banking services across the country, he added.
