Ex-justice Manik, DU Prof Jamal to be remanded for 1 day in crimes against humanity case
According to the order, the tribunal’s investigation agency will question the two individuals through the appointed investigating officer of the case.
The International Crimes Tribunal has granted permission to interrogate former Appellate Division Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik and University of Dhaka Sociology Professor AKM Jamal Uddin one day each in a case involving alleged crimes against humanity committed during the July Uprising.
The order was passed today (27 April) by a two-member bench of International Crimes Tribunal-1 led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, following a prosecution petition.
According to the order, the tribunal's investigation agency will question the two individuals through the appointed investigating officer of the case.
Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim represented the prosecution during the hearing. He sought permission to interrogate both Manik and Jamal one day each, at a convenient time within the next 15 days.
After the hearing, the tribunal approved the request and granted permission for the interrogation. Both Manik and Jamal are currently in jail in connection with multiple cases.
