Shimanto Bank signs MoU with DESCO for bill payment services
Shimanto Bank PLC and Dhaka Electricity Supply PLC (DESCO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance customer convenience in electricity bill payments.
The agreement was formalised at DESCO's head office in Dhaka.
Under this partnership, DESCO customers can now pay their electricity bills via Shimanto Bank's internet banking platforms—both app and web—as well as through any Shimanto Bank branch nationwide.

Md Nurul Azim, Managing Director & CEO of Shimanto Bank PLC, and Engr SM Shah Sultan, Company Secretary of DESCO, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
The signing ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Shameem Ahmed (Retd), Managing Director of DESCO; Md Kamrul Islam, Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) of DESCO; Md Sahidul Islam, Head of Business, Shimanto Bank; Sharif Zahirul Islam, Head of Cards & ADC, Shimanto Bank; Md Shajib Rahman, Branch Manager, Shimanto Bank Gulshan Branch; and other senior officials from both organisations.
