UAE aid distributes 24kg food packages to vulnerable families during ramadan
UAE Aid and the Emirates Red Crescent have distributed Ramadan food parcels among nearly 4,000 underprivileged families in several districts of Bangladesh, offering support to vulnerable communities during the holy month.
The initiative aims to help families prepare daily iftar meals by providing essential food items. Each family received a package weighing around 24kg, containing household food supplies for Ramadan, according to the organisers.
Rashed Mohammed Naser Almail Alzaabi, director of the foreign aid department at the UAE embassy in Dhaka, visited the distribution site and observed the activities. He also spoke with beneficiary families and local organisers during the visit.
Speaking on the occasion, Alzaabi said, "Ramadan is a time of compassion, generosity, and solidarity with those in need. Through this initiative, the UAE government and the Emirates Red Crescent aim to stand beside the people of Bangladesh and help ease the burden on vulnerable families during this blessed month. We are grateful for the opportunity to share the spirit of Ramadan with communities here."
Beneficiary families thanked the government of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirates Red Crescent for the support, saying it would help them manage daily meals during Ramadan.
The organisers said the programme is part of the UAE's broader humanitarian support for communities in need and reflects the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the UAE and Bangladesh.
