Dhaka Bank organises two-day women’s day programme at head office
To mark International Women's Day 2026, Dhaka Bank PLC organised a two-day programme at its head office on 5 and 8 March, featuring a mid-career crisis management workshop, Women Entrepreneurship Fair 2026, a panel discussion, and the unveiling of a new product for women customers.
The celebration brought together the bank's women employees in recognition of their contribution to the organisation.
As part of the programme, Dhaka Bank held a panel discussion featuring women leaders from different sectors, focusing on women's empowerment, leadership and inclusive growth. The session was moderated by Managing Director and CEO Osman Ershad Faiz, who highlighted the bank's commitment to promoting diversity, equality and opportunities for women both within the organisation and in society.
The guest panel included Zahida Fizza Kabir, CEO of Sajida Foundation; Barrister Farzana Ahmed, chief legal officer of Dhaka Bank; and Sabina Khatun, former captain of the Bangladesh women's national football team and captain of the Bangladesh women's national futsal team.
Additional Managing Director A K M Shahnawaj, deputy managing directors A M M Moyen Uddin, Md Mostaque Ahmed and Sheikh Abdul Bakir, and M Rezaur Rahman, head of HRD, were also present.
A healthcare programme was also arranged in collaboration with BRAC Healthcare, offering free doctor consultations and basic health screenings for women attendees.
On the occasion, Dhaka Bank introduced a new women-focused offering, "Empower – a product of Dhaka Bank Aroni", a premium savings account designed for high-net-worth female clients.
Under the theme "Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls.", the bank said it organised the programme to recognise the role of women in the country's economic and social development. Women employees were honoured through various activities aimed at inspiring and encouraging them.
Dhaka Bank also organised a session on mid-career crisis management, conducted by Alya Fardous Azad, senior counsellor at Evercare Hospital Dhaka. In addition, a day-long exhibition titled "Dhaka Bank International Women's Day Entrepreneurship Fair 2026" was held on 5 March, featuring stalls by women entrepreneurs displaying apparel, accessories and food items.
Dhaka Bank said it remains committed to fostering a supportive and women-friendly workplace where women can move forward with confidence.
