Standard Bank marks end of Md Habibur Rahman’s tenure
After completing three years as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Standard Bank PLC, Md Habibur Rahman formally bid farewell to the bank.
A farewell programme was organised on his last working day, 29 January 2026, at the bank's boardroom at the head office in Dhaka. The ceremony was presided over by Mohammed Abdul Aziz, Chairman of Standard Bank PLC.
Also present were Gulzar Ahmed, Vice Chairman; Ferozur Rahman, S A M Hossain, and Ferdous Ali Khan, Directors; and Khondoker Rumy Ehsanul Huq, Independent Director. The programme was conducted by Md Siddiqur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director. Senior executives and heads of all divisions of the bank attended the event.
In his farewell speech, Md Habibur Rahman reflected on his professional journey at the bank and expressed gratitude to colleagues and stakeholders for their cooperation in its overall development. He urged officials to continue working with commitment to ensure the bank's future progress.
Speakers at the programme praised his leadership, strategic decision-making, and professionalism during his tenure.
At the conclusion of the event, Mohammed Abdul Aziz, Chairman, on behalf of the bank, presented flowers, a crest, and gifts to the outgoing managing director and wished him good health and continued success.
