The Bangladesh Coast Guard has provided free medical services and medicines to 280 underprivileged and distressed residents, including children, in Char Manika under Charfassion upazila of Bhola.
The daylong medical camp, held from 11am to 2pm on Wednesday, was organised by the Coast Guard Base Bhola as part of the force's ongoing humanitarian and community outreach initiatives.
Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Hoque, media officer of the Bangladesh Coast Guard, confirmed the information in the afternoon.
He said the Coast Guard has been serving coastal and riverside communities since its inception, regularly organising free medical camps to support low-income and marginalised people.
He added that the Coast Guard will continue similar humanitarian activities in the future.
