832 bhori gold ornaments recovered from Hasina's Agrani Bank vaults
According to CIC officials, the vaults — numbered 751 and 753 — were opened today, following Bangladesh Bank regulations.
Officials of the National Board of Revenue's Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) have reported recovering 832 bhori of gold ornaments in two vaults registered under the name of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina at the principal branch of Agrani Bank in the capital's Motijheel.
A senior CIC official confirmed the matter to The Business Standard tonight (25 November).
According to CIC officials, the vaults — numbered 751 and 753 — were opened today, following Bangladesh Bank regulations, by a joint team comprising the CIC and other agencies.
On the same day, another vault belonging to the former prime minister at Pubali Bank was also opened by the authorities, but no assets were found there, officials said.
