Land ministry alerts about issuance of fake appointment letter

Land Ministry today alerted that a racket is out to cheat people issuing fake appointment letter of an office under the ministry after making a fake website alike the websites under the national portal.

Land Administration Training Centre (LATC) Electrician Md Ruhul Amin today informed the authorities concerned that someone phoned him informing that appointment letters have been issued in the name of him and three others in the website www.latcgovbd.com, said a press release here today.

Under an initial scrutiny, it was known that the racket made a fake website as like as LATC's website.

The original website address of LATC is www.latc.gov.bd while the fake one is www.latcgovbd.com, the release said.

On June 21 last, it issued fake appointment letters in the name Electrician Md Ruhul Amin and three other so-called persons named Md Raihan Rahman, Md Abdus Salam and Md Ariful Islam in the fake website.

Actually, the LATC did not issue appointment letters for Md Raihan Rahman, Md Abdus Salam and Md Ariful Islam.

On June 21, appointment letter was issued to Electrician Md Ruhul Amin and he is now working at the LATC.

The LATC has already informed the authorities concerned to take necessary measures to this end.

Preparations are underway to lodge a case in Digital Security Act with New Market Thana.

The Land Ministry called upon the people to remain alert about the forgery and requested them to inform the law enforcement agencies if anyone asks money for appointment at offices under the ministry.
