Unico Hospital Celebrate World Diabetes Day 2025
World Diabetes Day 2025 was observed on 15 November with an outreach event at the Unico Hospital PLC premises on Green Road, Dhaka, under the theme "Promote Diabetes Awareness in the Workplace".
On this occasion, free health checks — including diabetes screening and doctor consultations — were provided to rickshaw pullers, CNG drivers and car drivers at the hospital premises.
The health camp was inaugurated by Dr Rozana Rouf, consultant in internal medicine and diabetes, in the presence of Chief Executive Officer Ardra Kurien and Chief Medical Services Brig Gen (retd) Dr Md Sharif Ahmed, along with other doctors and officials of Unico Hospital.
In her inaugural remarks, Dr Rozana Rouf said diabetes has now become a global pandemic and that working people face a particularly high risk. She stressed the importance of regular health checks, disciplined lifestyles and increased awareness about diabetes and its effects. The camp provided health services to nearly five hundred people.
Professor Khwaja Nazim Uddin, a leading clinician known for his contributions to diabetes management at national and international levels, addressed attendees and offered consultations to those identified as diabetic patients.
In addition to the health camp, a seminar titled "Diabetes Awareness at Workplace" was organised for Unico Hospital employees, where experts discussed diabetes prevention, control, health awareness and positive lifestyle management.
The health camp was organised by Unico Hospital with support from Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
