81st UNGA ends with calls for reform, accountability, and global cooperation
The 81st UN General Assembly's General Debate has concluded after speeches from 194 delegations. This year's UNGA focused on peace, international law, AI governance, stalled Sustainable Development Goals, and United Nations reform.The session also saw diplomatic tensions over US visa restrictions affecting Palestinian officials and a mass walkout during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address. Leaders also called for a transparent, inclusive, and merit-based process to select the next UN secretary-general.
