Experts stress need for access to finance to unlock youth potential
Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), recently organised a seminar entitled "Financial Inclusion: Engaging and Inspiring Youth in Banking" under its flagship PrimeAcademia initiative.
Lieutenant Colonel SM Zobaer Alam, psc, Chairman of the Department of Business Administration–General at the Faculty of Business Studies, BUP, and Lecturer, Israt Jahan Dina, took part in the session, contributing to a lively exchange of ideas and insights. They addressed the audience on the importance of financial literacy and leadership skills for students.
M Nazeem A Choudhury, Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank, led the discussion, encouraging students to envision purposeful and innovative career paths. Senior Executive Vice-President and Head of Liability, Shaila Abedin, and MM Mahbub Hasan, Head of Financial Inclusion and School Banking, also spoke at the event, highlighting how innovation, ethics, and empathy are shaping the next era of banking.
The seminar underscored the importance of industry–academia collaboration, with Prime Bank and BUP reaffirming their commitment to strengthening partnerships through student-focused initiatives, research collaborations, and skills development programmes.
