NSU wraps up three-day National Career Fair 2026
North South University (NSU) concluded its three-day 10th National Career Fair 2026 at the NSU Plaza on 3 February 2026, reaffirming the university's commitment to preparing students for the job market and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.
Organised by the Career and Placement Center (CPC) and presented by MGH Group, the fair brought together leading employers, industry professionals and aspiring graduates on a single platform.
The closing ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellor of NSU Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury; Founder Life Member and former chairman of the Board of Trustees M A Kashem; Founder Life Member and former chairman of the Board of Trustees Benajir Ahmed; Member of the Board of Trustees Rehana Rahman; President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Taskeen Ahmed; Pro Vice-Chancellor of NSU Professor Nasar Uddin Ahmed; Treasurer of NSU Professor Abdur Rob Khan; and Director of the Career and Placement Center Dr Farzana Nahid, along with senior officials, faculty members, representatives of participating organisations and guests.
Speaking at the event, Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer of NSU, said the fair created a meaningful opportunity for students, alumni and participants from other universities to submit their CVs, explore career prospects and gain insights into employment opportunities.
Professor Nasar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor of NSU, described the fair as a nationwide platform where students could apply academic knowledge to real-life problem-solving and better understand how their skills align with industry needs.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury said the fair provided young people with direct access to career guidance and interaction with corporate leaders, noting that NSU remains committed to supporting learners not only from its own campus but also from institutions across the country.
Rehana Rahman, Member of the Board of Trustees, thanked the organisers and expressed hope that future editions of the career fair would be even more vibrant and impactful.
Benajir Ahmed, Founder Life Member and former chairman of the Board of Trustees, said the fair had transformed the campus into a bridge between education and employment, adding that it encouraged students to reflect on how they want to contribute to society and the global market.
Taskeen Ahmed, President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the event went beyond recruitment, fostering discussions on ambition, opportunity and the future of Bangladesh.
M A Kashem, Member of the Board of Trustees, urged students to think beyond graduation and emphasised the need for skilled professionals, innovators and responsible citizens, particularly in an era of rapid technological advancement.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Dr Farzana Nahid, Director of the Career and Placement Center, said more than 3,000 students from other universities visited the fair over the three days, reflecting strong nationwide interest in career development.
Over the course of the event, numerous national and multinational companies participated, offering recruitment opportunities, career counselling and interactive sessions for students and fresh graduates. The fair once again positioned North South University as a leading institution in promoting employability and supporting Bangladesh's future workforce.
