UCB signs deal to digitise Faridpur municipal payments
United Commercial Bank PLC and Faridpur Pourosova have partnered to launch a digital payment system for municipal revenue collection, aiming to streamline payments and drive efficiency.
Under the agreement, United Commercial Bank PLC will provide the banking and digital payment infrastructure required to collect all designated municipal revenues, including holding tax, trade licence fees, water bills, building plan approval fees, municipal market rents, birth and death registration fees, and other service charges.
Residents will be able to pay municipal dues through United Commercial Bank PLC's branches and digital channels, ensuring faster, more secure and more convenient transactions.
The initiative is expected to enhance efficiency and transparency in municipal revenue collection.
Md Iliasur Rahman, Administrator of Faridpur Pourosova, and Shahbaj Talat, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Transaction Banking of United Commercial Bank PLC, signed the agreement in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Md Iliasur Rahman said, "This initiative will modernise the municipality's revenue collection system, making payments more convenient for citizens and enhancing efficiency and transparency in public service delivery."
Shahbaj Talat said, "The agreement reflects United Commercial Bank PLC's commitment to advancing digital public services by delivering secure, efficient and transparent payment solutions for government institutions and citizens."
