Prime Bank wins Fintech Award for accessibility-focused initiative
Prime Bank PLC has won the 'Fintech Innovation of the Year – Bank' award for launching Bangladesh's first sign language call service in the banking industry.
The award was presented at the 3rd Bangladesh Fintech Award 2025, held during the closing ceremony of the 5th Bangladesh Fintech Summit at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka recently. A total of 26 innovative initiatives across 12 categories were recognised at the ceremony.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur handed over the award to Prime Bank officials. Hassan O. Rashid, Chief Executive Officer of Prime Bank; Md. Jashim Uddin, Chief Financial Officer; and Shaila Abedin, Head of Liability, were present at the event.
Prime Bank introduced the sign language call service to make banking more inclusive and accessible for customers with speech and hearing impairments, setting a new benchmark in the country's banking and fintech landscape.
