Labaid introduces labaid ai, featuring labaid-gpt and luna

Labaid Group has unveiled its latest venture, Labaid AI, signalling a major step towards revolutionising Bangladesh's healthcare sector with artificial intelligence.
The launch took place today, 7 September 2025, at Labaid Cancer Hospital and Super Speciality Centre in Dhaka.
Labaid AI aims to accelerate and enhance medical treatment by integrating AI technology into healthcare delivery. The initiative promises to improve diagnostic accuracy, strengthen doctors' capabilities, and enhance the overall patient experience—ushering in a new era of health technology in Bangladesh.
The platform has launched two breakthrough tools: Labaid-GPT for clinicians, and LUNA, a versatile AI assistant.
Labaid-GPT is a digital assistant designed for doctors to analyse international treatment guidelines and clinical data, delivering rapid, evidence-based insights. It aims to simplify complex diagnoses, reduce diagnostic delays, and minimise human error—allowing physicians to focus more on patient care while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
LUNA, meanwhile, is a multi-domain AI chatbot and personal assistant—the first of its kind in South Asia. Capable of operating across eight different roles simultaneously, LUNA can act as a nurse, a doctor's assistant, a banker, a corporate specialist or even a legal adviser. It assists users by providing real-time, role-based information—from explaining prescriptions to answering financial queries—making it a versatile companion for personal and professional needs.
The visionary behind Labaid AI is Sakif Shamim, Managing Director of Labaid Cancer Hospital and Super Speciality Centre. A pioneering entrepreneur and innovator in the country's healthcare sector, Shamim also founded LifePlus Bangladesh, a telemedicine service bringing healthcare to homes. With eight patents already secured, Labaid AI is set to establish Bangladesh as a regional leader in health technology innovation.
'Our vision is straightforward,' said Sakif Shamim. 'We aim to harness advanced technology to make quality healthcare accessible for all. With LUNA and Labaid-GPT, we strive to help doctors provide quicker, more accurate treatment and give patients instant, dependable information. This is just the start—our ambition is to shape Bangladesh's healthcare future.'
