2 brothers hacked to death in Chuadanga over previous enmity
8 to 10 people with sticks and sharp weapons attacked them and left them critically injured
Two brothers were killed in an attack allegedly by rivals in Uthli village of Jibannagar Upazila in Chuadanga this morning (20 September) over previous enmity.
The deceased were Minta Mia, 60, and Hamza Ali, 45, sons of late Khude Mondol of Bara Mosque Para in the same village.
Jibannagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mamun Hossain Biswas said police were sent to the spot after being informed.
According to locals, the two brothers went to work in the field near the 72 No bridge in Uthli village around 8am. At that time, 8 to 10 people with sticks and sharp weapons attacked them and left them critically injured.
Locals rescued the brothers in a bloodied state and took them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where Hamza died first while undergoing treatment, followed by Minta.
An investigation is underway to uncover the motive behind the murders, said OC Mamun.
