Jucsu polls: 328 aspirants collect nomination forms on 2nd day

A total of 328 nomination forms have been sold in two days for the upcoming Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (Jucsu) and hall union elections.

The information was confirmed by Jahangirnagar University Proctor and Jucsu Election Commission Member Secretary Professor AKM Rashidul Alam at a regular press briefing on this afternoon (19 August).
Rashidul Alam said, "Nomination forms were distributed from 9am to 4pm at the commission office, similar to the previous day. According to the commission, four candidates have so far submitted their nomination forms for the central students' union."
Meanwhile, the commission has extended the deadline for form collection and submission by one more day, considering requests from student organizations and individual students.
Chief Election Commissioner Professor Md Moniruzzaman said, "Many students appealed for an extension of the deadline. To facilitate wider participation, we have decided to extend the time.
"As Wednesday is a public holiday, the forms can now be collected until 2pm on Thursday and submitted until 4pm the same day."
