Biman forms 4 member committee over recent technical issues

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has formed a four-member committee to investigate technical problems in its flights between 1 July and 13 August, according to a press release issued today (19 August).
The press release said the committee will review maintenance and operational records, identify causes, ensure accountability and submit its report within 10 working days. It mentioned that instructions have also been given to investigate the Dhaka–Abu Dhabi flight toilet flush incident.

To enhance technical capacity, Biman has arranged spare tyres at outstations including Jeddah, Dubai, Medina, Dammam, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, with purchase orders already issued. The Jeddah tyre burst is being investigated by the Director (Flight Operations).
Special night maintenance shifts began on 18 August, while supervision has been strengthened under senior engineering officials, according to the press release.
The press release added that Biman is reviewing its inventory system with Boeing, revising spare parts lists, introducing recurrent engineer training and recruiting apprentice mechanics to strengthen long-term capacity. It said passenger safety and trust remain the airline's top priority.
