The confessions came after the suspects were placed on different terms of police remand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Md Monirul Islam, Mohammad Ehsanul Islam, and Awlad Hossain Muhammad Jonaid recorded their statements.

The application for recording the confessions was submitted by Kotwali Police Station officer-in-charge Md Moniruzzaman, investigating officer of the case.

Earlier, on 12 July, Titon was placed on a 5-day remand, and the next day, Alamgir and Monir were each remanded for four days in connection with the murder case.

On 9 July, Sohag was brutally murdered in broad daylight near Gate 3 of Mitford Hospital. His attackers repeatedly smashed his head and body with a large concrete boulder. Video footage of the killing went viral.

The following day, Sohag's elder sister Monjuara Begum filed a murder case with Kotwali Police Station, naming 19 people and including 15 to 20 unidentified individuals. In connection with the same incident, police also filed a separate case under the Arms Act.

A total of nine suspects have been arrested so far.

Sohag, son of Yusuf Ali Howlader of Purbo Namabari village in Keraniganj Model Thana, had been running a scrap business for years on Rajani Ghosh Lane, near Mitford Hospital.
