Stocks jumped on Wednesday, while the turnover of the Dhaka bourse reached Tk700 crore mark after eight months.

On the day, the DSEX, key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose by 54 points to reach at 5,116, while the blue-chip DS30 gained 29 points to close at 1,920.

Out of the traded stocks, 267 advanced, 79 declined and 51 remained unchanged.

The turnover at the DSE jumped by 12% to reach at Tk734 crore, which was highest since 5 November last year.

On 5 November, the DSE recorded a turnover of Tk839 crore.

Sea Pearl Beach Resort topped on the turnover table, while Prime Insurance led the gainers chart and GQ Ball Pen emerged as the worst performer on the day.
