The body of another Chattogram University (CU) student has washed ashore in Cox's Bazar beach after he, along with his two friends, were swept away by strong currents.

Deceased Asif Ahmed, from the Dakshin Naruli area of Bogura sadar upazila, was a student of the Development Studies Department, CU.

His body was recovered from the Samiti Para area of Cox's Bazar coast this morning, said Inspector Md Abdul Mukit of Cox's Bazar Tourist Police.

He said in the morning, locals found the body floating and informed the Tourist Police. On information, they recovered the body.

The identity of the deceased was confirmed by the deceased's brother, said the inspector.

Earlier, yesterday, locals recovered the body of another student, KM Sadman Rahman Sabab, in Himchhari point on the Cox's Bazar beach.

Asif Ahmed, KM Sadman Rahman Sabab and their other friend, Aritra Hasan, from the same department of Chittagong University, were swept away by strong currents while taking a bath in the sea at Himchhari yesterday.

Of them, Aritra still remains missing.
