IUB secures five podium finishes at Inter-University Squash Tournament 2025

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) secured an impressive five podium finishes—including two championships and three runner-up titles—at the 2nd Inter-University Squash Tournament 2025, held on 4 July at the Army Squash Court in Dhaka. The tournament was organised by the Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation and sponsored by Mark's.

Marjan Akter Monika, Squash Coach at IUB, clinched the Championship title in the Female Plate Group and was also awarded a coaching certificate for preparing the IUB team within just 12 days.

In the Female Elite Group, Riazul Zannat Urdho from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering emerged as Champion, while Joti Rani Roy from the Department of Accounting became Runner-up. In the Men's Elite Group, Md Raihan from the Department of Management Information Systems secured the Runner-up position. In the Men's Plate Group, Md Mahmud Mubin from the Department of General Management also finished as Runner-up.

A total of 12 players represented IUB—nine male and three female. IUB players featured in the finals of every category contested, making this the university's most successful showing in the tournament to date. All winners received medals and certificates in recognition of their achievements.

The tournament brought together 40 participants—30 male and 10 female players—from 10 universities, including University of Dhaka, University of Chittagong, United International University, Military Institute of Science and Technology, Bangladesh University of Professionals, East West University, American International University-Bangladesh, Jagannath University, and IUB.
