Southeast University hosts International Summit on Three Zero Policy

Southeast University recently hosted an International Summit on the Three Zero Policy on 30 June 2025 at its campus. The event, organised by the School of Business in collaboration with CSCA, SBIF, and SEUDC, focused on strategies to achieve zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero net carbon emissions.
The summit began with opening remarks from Prof. Dr. Mofazzal Hossain, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University. The first session featured Mr. Ashraful Hasan, Chairman of Grameen Group, as Chief Guest, who shared his experiences developing Grameen Bank projects. The session was chaired by SEU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam.
The event brought together policymakers, academics, industry leaders, diplomats, and youth representatives from six countries to discuss policy and practical solutions aimed at achieving the Three Zero goals.
In the closing session, Honorable Advisor to the Government of Bangladesh, Mr. Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, was the Chief Guest. He highlighted the importance of renewable energy, sustainable development, and poverty alleviation. He also stressed the need for collaboration and proposed practical measures like installing rooftop solar panels in offices, courts, schools, and colleges. He emphasized the role of collective effort in fostering future leaders and entrepreneurs.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of North South University and Chairman of Grameen Bank, served as Guest of Honour. Mr. Rezaul Karim, Chairman of Southeast University Trust, gave a special address, and Prof. Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam offered opening remarks for the closing session.
