The High Court (HC) has directed the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to ensure that all videos of the Muradnagar rape incident circulating on social media are removed within the next 24 hours.

The court has also ordered that the survivor of the incident be provided with adequate security and medical treatment.

The directives were issued today (29 June) by a HC bench comprising Justice Fahmida Khatun and Justice Syed Zahid Mansur, following a hearing on a writ petition.

The court has further instructed authorities concerned to submit a progress report on the investigation by 14 July, the date scheduled for the next hearing.

Advocate Mir AKM Nurunnabi represented the petitioner, while Deputy Attorney General Tanim Khan and Assistant Attorney General Ikramul Kabir appeared on behalf of the state.

Speaking to reporters, Advocate Nurunnabi confirmed the court's instructions and said, "The HC has ordered that a report on the investigation progress be submitted within 15 days. Police must present this update in court during the next hearing scheduled for 14 July."
