UCBD celebrates monash college graduation convocation 2025

Universal College Bangladesh (UCBD) celebrated the Monash College Graduation Convocation 2025 on 28 June at the Grand Ballroom of Le Méridien Dhaka, marking a major milestone for 120 students who completed the Monash University Foundation Year and Monash College Diploma programmes in Business, Engineering, and Information Technology.

The convocation—UCBD's fourth—honoured graduates from the 8th and 9th intakes of Monash programmes. The ceremony opened with a welcome address by Professor Hew Gill, President of UCBD, who commended the students' outstanding academic performance. "With a 98% pass rate and most students achieving top grades, I am delighted to say that UCBD students in Dhaka outperform their peers in Melbourne," he said. "All tonight's graduates leave with a world-class qualification and a guaranteed transition to some of the best international universities."

UCBD is the exclusive partner of Monash College in Bangladesh, offering students a direct and Ministry of Education-approved pathway to Monash University in Australia, currently ranked 37th in the QS World University Rankings 2025.

Chief Guest H.E. Clifton Pobke, Acting High Commissioner of Australia to Bangladesh, praised the partnership. "The collaboration between UCBD and Monash is a shining example of how education can bridge nations and foster global impact. I am proud to witness the journey of these future leaders and ambassadors of the strong Australia–Bangladesh friendship."

The convocation concluded with certificate distribution and celebrations of academic excellence. Distinguished attendees included H.E. Clifton Pobke, representatives from educational institutions and corporate sectors across Bangladesh, UCBD board members, Professor Md Ismail Hossain, Dean of Academic Affairs at UCBD, and Manas Singh, CEO of STS Group.

As Bangladesh's first international education provider approved by the Ministry of Education, UCBD continues to enable students to begin their higher studies in Dhaka before transitioning seamlessly to Monash University in Australia. The next intakes for Monash programmes at UCBD are scheduled for July and August 2025.
