DU launches probe into allegations of irregularities in faculty recruitment, promotions in last 15 years
All concerned — including current and former faculty members — have been requested to submit any specific allegations with supporting documents in writing to the committee's member-secretary, the acting registrar, by 25 July.

Dhaka University (DU authorities have formed an investigation committee to examine whether there were any irregularities in faculty recruitment and promotion between 2009 and August 2024.
In a notice issued today (26 June) by the university's Public Relations Office, all concerned — including current and former faculty members — have been requested to submit any specific allegations with supporting documents in writing to the committee's member-secretary, the acting registrar, by 25 July.
Earlier on 17 March, the university's highest policymaking body, the Syndicate, formed an investigation committee to probe potential misconduct in hiring and promotions.
The committee is convened by Dr Tajmeri SA Islam, a retired professor from the Department of Chemistry and a member of the university's Syndicate.
Other committee members include Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Mamun Ahmed, retired Public Administration Department professor and Syndicate member Dr Aka Firoz Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Law Professor Ikramul Haque, and Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed.
Earlier this year, on 17 January, the "Shada Dal" (White Panel) — a group of pro-BNP teachers at Dhaka University — formed a two-member committee to collect information on alleged corruption, irregularities, and discrimination in faculty appointments during the Awami League's 15-year rule.
