Naim, who made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in Sylhet in March 2020, has featured in eight ODIs to date, scoring a total of 95 runs.

Naim returns as BCB names squad for Sri Lanka ODIs

Opener Mohammad Naim Sheikh has been recalled to Bangladesh's One Day International (ODI) squad after almost two years. The left-handed batsman has been named in the 16-man squad announced today for the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka.

Naim, who made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in Sylhet in March 2020, has featured in eight ODIs to date, scoring a total of 95 runs. His most recent appearance in the format was also against Sri Lanka, in Colombo, in September 2023.

Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed also makes his return to the squad after recovering from injury. The squad was announced by chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain during a press conference held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will captain the side for the ODI series.

The first two ODIs are scheduled to take place in Colombo on 2 and 5 July, with the third and final match to be held in Pallekele.
