DU restricts entry of outsiders ahead of World Cup final

Dhaka University will restrict outsiders' entry and regulate vehicle movement on its campus from tomorrow evening (19 July) until early Monday (20 July) ahead of the Fifa World Cup 2026 final.
The decision has been taken to ensure the overall safety and security of the campus and its students, the university said in a press release issued today (18 July).
According to the notice, from 6:30pm tomorrow until 6am on Monday, only university teachers, students, officers and employees will be allowed to enter the campus.
Entry of guests will remain restricted during this period, the press release added.
Also, only vehicles bearing Dhaka University stickers and emergency service vehicles – including ambulances, vehicles carrying doctors and patients, journalists, ride-sharing services, food delivery vehicles, online shopping delivery vehicles and other government vehicles – will be allowed to enter the campus through its main entry points at Shahbagh, Doel Chattar, Shivbari Crossing, Fuller Road and Nilkhet.
All other vehicles will be barred from entering the campus during the restricted hours.
However, the road stretching from Palashi through Doel Chattar to the High Court intersection will remain open to traffic, the university said.
