Police on Saturday recovered two beheaded bodies from the roadside of Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu bridge highway.

Police identified the deceased as Masud Rana, 32, son of Farid Bepari of Shantinagar village in Chilamari Upazila of Kurigram and is Mamun, 28, son of Maqbool of Chanbari village under Kotwali police station in Rangpur.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirzapur Police Station Md Sayedur Rahman said, "Locals informed the police after finding the decapitated bodies lying in front of the Jasmine-Juthi filling station on the east side of Nasir Gas Factory in Gorai area in the morning. A motorcycle was found at the scene."

"A lot of electrical wires were found at the scene. It was assumed that the motorcycle collided with roadside wires after losing control due to the speed. We are trying to communicate with their family," said the OC.

The bodies are being sent to Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

However, according to locals, one of the deceased was wearing an army uniform.

Abul Bashar, sub-inspector of the police station and investigation officer of the case, said, "Initially we are assuming that the victims are not army members and the army vest and pant that one of them was wearing was bought from the marketplace."
