Tangail students protest forced participation in NCP rally
NCP’s Chief Coordinator for Tangail, Masudur Rahman Russell, said, "I express regret to the former and current students concerning this matter"

Current and former students of Bindubasini Government Boys' High School in Tangail have staged a march and rally, protesting the alleged forced participation of students from educational institutions in a rally organised by the National Citizen Party (NCP).
During the demonstration, the students chanted various slogans including "No politics in educational institutions!"
The students began their protest march this afternoon (30 July) from the high school's premises. The procession paraded through key city roads and concluded in front of the Tangail Press Club, where former and current students of the school delivered speeches at the protest rally.
Speakers at the rally alleged that on Tuesday (29 July), while the NCP rally was underway at Nirala intersection in the city, students were forcibly taken from their classes to join the march.
Students further claimed that teachers who attempted to intervene were subjected to various threats.
The students emphasised that Bindubasini Government Boys' High School has historically produced politicians, but no one has ever politicised the school itself.
They warned of a stricter movement if those responsible for the NCP's actions do not issue a public apology.
Regarding the allegations, NCP's Chief Coordinator for Tangail, Masudur Rahman Russell, said, "I express regret to the former and current students concerning this matter. We have assured them that students will not be brought to any future NCP programmes."
Md Tofazzal Hossain, headmaster of Bindubasini Government Boys' High School, said, " NCP approached us to take students. We directly refused them. They may have taken students after the first shift was ended."
