Fully support reasonable demands to protect women's rights, but will stand against 'destructive ideas like LGBTQ, homosexuality': Sarjis
He suggests mental treatment to those promoting such things, says prostitution can’t be a profession
Sarjis Alam, the chief organiser (North) of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has said that while he fully supports any reasonable demands aimed at protecting women's rights, he will oppose the promotion of "destructive ideologies such as homosexuality and LGBTQ".
In a Facebook post today (18 May), the NCP leader wrote, "There will be full support for any logical demands to safeguard women's rights. But if, directly or indirectly, these are used to promote so-called LGBTQ cultures — such as homosexuality or transgender identities — which I consider dangerous and destructive, we must resist such efforts."
Sarjis described LGBTQ identities as a "cancer," claiming they pose a threat to families, society, and the nation.

He suggested that people advocating for these identities are "mentally unwell and should receive psychological treatment."
The NCP leader also commented on sex work, saying it cannot be considered a legitimate profession. "Those who have been trapped or forced into such work must be rehabilitated by the state."
