A few days ago, when Rockstar Games announced that one of the year's most anticipated game releases — Grand Theft Auto 6 — would be delayed by another year, the internet was furious.

It has even become the meme of the decade for the unexpected things we got before the game release: "We saw the fall of Sheikh Hasina before we got GTA 6!"

That doesn't mean Rockstar Games is going to leave us hanging after a whole year's delay. No, they decided to give us a few more crumbs in the form of a whole new trailer.

As the first trailer had broken three official Guinness World Records, it is safe to say that fans were excited about the latest trailer as well.

GTA 6's second trailer reveals a thrilling romance with the backdrop of heists and crime — all for the dream of living an easy life. Featuring new characters, potential subplots, and a resurgence of old hits like 'Hot Together', the upcoming game has fans on the edge of their seats.

The new trailer is, quite frankly, much more visually appealing than the first. Combined with a list of character descriptions listed on the website, Rockstar gave us a little more to hang on till its release on 26 May 2026.

Music plays an important role in the GTA world, and the latest features the high-energy action and romance of Vice City, all set to the beat of 'Hot Together' by The Pointer Sisters.

Staying true to Rockstar's tradition of iconic soundtracks, the 1986 pop R&B track perfectly captures the nostalgic vibe of the '80s. Despite being a less popular hit, the new GTA 6 trailer might just change that.

If the first trailer's use of Tom Petty's 'Love Is a Long Road' is any indication — where the song saw a massive resurgence — 'Hot Together' is poised for a well-deserved comeback, reigniting its groove for a new generation.

The trailer opens with a snapshot of Jason's daily grind — mundane tasks that barely keep him afloat. Jason also seems to be working for the Leonida Marine Center, hinted at by a shirt he wears in the trailer.

But beneath the surface, old habits die hard. He also works for local drug runners, proving that even during a routine, he's never too far from trouble.

The first few seconds of the trailer also introduce Brian Heder, a veteran smuggler who uses other people to get his dirty work done. He uses his company, Brian's Boat Works & Marina, as a front for his smuggling operations.

The trailer makes it clear that GTA 6 centres on the rocky romance between Jason and Lucia Caminos. In one scene, Jason arrives at Leonida Penitentiary to pick up Lucia after her release.

A guard eyes him suspiciously and asks, "I seen you before?" — a subtle hint that Jason's been a familiar face at the prison, likely visiting Lucia during her time behind bars.

The main storyline, though, kicks off when we see Lucia robbing a bank with Jason–most likely an easy job that goes wrong.

The trailer also hints at a subplot involving corrupt cops. Although glimpsed briefly in the first trailer, their role remained unclear.

In the second trailer, however, the tension deepens as one of the officers is heard saying, "Us cops, we gotta protect each other," hinting at a tight-knit circle of corruption that could play a pivotal role in the story.

We also meet Real Dimez, comprising Bae-Luxe and Roxy, rap artists and social media influencers, who are looking to make another hit under Only Raw Records.

While we don't see much of Boobie Ike in the trailer, Rockstar's website tells us all we need to know. Ike, a Vice City legend, is focused on making his new venture, Only Raw Records, a success. Ike partners with Dre'Quan Priest, a hustler-turned-music mogul.

We also get to meet new characters like Cal Hampton and Raul Bautista. Hampton, Jason's friend, is a strong believer in anything he sees on the internet, especially if it is a juicy conspiracy. Bautista, on the other hand, is an experienced bank robber who lives for the next big score.
