Pakistan foreign minister’s Dhaka visit postponed
The new dates for the visit will be finalised through mutual consultations, said the foreign ministry

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar's has postponed his scheduled visit to Dhaka.
"The Government of Pakistan has conveyed that due to unforeseen circumstances the Hon'ble Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan is unable to undertake the visit to Bangladesh on 27-28 April 2025," reads a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today (24 April).
The new dates for the visit will be finalised through mutual consultations, it also states.
The announcement follows the recent terror attack in India-run Kashmir on Tuesday, in which 26 people — most of them tourists — were killed.
Tensions are running high between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of the terror attack.
Indian police published notices naming three militant suspects and saying two were Pakistanis, but New Delhi has not offered any proof of the linkages or shared any more details.
Following the attack, India today (24 April) suspended visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Yesterday (23 April), India took five punitive actions against Pakistan, including putting in abeyance the Indus Waters Treaty, closing the integrated check post at the Attari border and cutting down the overall strength of the high commissions.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed that India would pursue the terrorists responsible for the dastardly attack "to the end of the earth".
Meanwhile, Pakistan closed its air space for Indian airlines and rejected New Delhi's suspension of a water sharing treaty in retaliation for neighbouring India's response to a deadly militant attack in the Indian-ruled part of Kashmir.
